More than 230,000 children who have been forced to flee their homes in 2019 because of conflict are facing a desperate plight in Northern Syria. Several areas including displacement camps have been hit by flooding and cold weather. About 500 tents have been destroyed, while other tents were abandoned by residents as they became unliveable. This Save the Children supported school had to close because of flash floods, where water exceeded 30 centimetres. For several days, children remained at home in tents which were equally flooded. Once the school reopened, only 20 students showed up in class, the others still having to face the flooding effects at home.
